STEP 1: FIND A GAME
STEP 2: ATTEND AND PARTICIPATE IN A TOURNAMENT
STEP 3: START A GAME
• Visit your local radical bookstore, collectives, indymedia, infoshop or college campus to see if a pick-up game already exists
• Talk to your friends about starting one. get a dozen people to commit to playing regularly
• Locate a soccer field or flat spot
• Decide on a date and a time period for the game that doesn't conflict with existing games. Be consistent
• Have a backup location in case of bad weather
• Combine with a picnic/barbecue and other sports, such as kickball. Kid friendly is good too.
• Put up fliers. Start an email listserv
• Send out e-mails to local activist, radical and anarchist lists
• Keep games open to everyone, mixed gender, with no fixed teams
• Show up regularly and have fun. You'll need 6-12 dedicated people.
• Get to know the people you play with.
• Follow games with a party, potluck or similar gathering.
• It will take time and persistence to get a regular game going

STEP 4: THINK OF A VARIATION:
Without out a doubt there are many regional variations. Most games use less rules than regular pick-up soccer (e.g. shirts for goal posts, no boundaries, score not kept, modified scoring, naked, etc), but still have some kind of loose structure to keep it interesting and together.
